Hey ya'll! I'm a little younger than most of you, I'm only 15 goin' on 16 in June. I went to ZHS, actually i was in the elementary, but it was all in one building. Anyway I am looking especially for Chris DeWild, I think he has an older sister about 20 something by now. Chris, you lived a few houses down from me on Base Housing and I remember you had a sandbox in your backyard. And when you weren't home your mamma let me and Jenny and a few other kids play until you came home. For those of you who don't remember me, I have an older sister,22, Paige Druin, and an older brother, 21, David Graffius. We're all doing pretty good. I don't remember a lot of last names, but I was also in the Girlscouts and the local Little Legue softball team called the Saints. and I remember a guy named Luke who was in my art class. Thanks to my little brother (Chris), I have found my way here. I am currently living in New York City, about to complete my one year internship for pastoral ministry, after which I return to Washington, DC, to return finish my Master's Degree. In two years I will be eligible for ordination to the priesthood with the Paulist Fathers, and mind you, by far one of the youngest Catholic Priests around...I'll be 28! I've really had a lot of fun trying to get in contact with as many people as possible. Mindy Fulton (McLeod) and I were talking about a possible 2000 reunion with a five year span (ie, 1988-1992). Thanks to everyone out there who has sent in pictures, phone numbers, and other info that has helped me find long lost friends. Our reunion is only a month away, and I sure am getting anxious. I realize it will be over before I know it, just like my 3 years in Spain. But, I'm sure it will leave me with more great memories of the best friends I ever had. Sylvia Carmona and Debbie Bryant are working feverishly to get the last details attended to, in order to ensure a good time is had by all. Although, personally I think if we all met in a barn in the middle of nowhere and brought sleeping bags and our own food... we'd still have a great time! Anyone agree?

So, 22 years have gone by--seems like yesterday, or no longer that the day before yesterday...yet, for the life of me I can't put a face on most of the names. Alzheimer's? Hope not, just turned 40. I did a little photography while there and used to have tons of pictures of many classmates and teachers. Will start "digging" to see if I can find them. Found our graduation program from 76. Was anyone there? Remember that day? Enough for now...Previously I have been on an ISP "witch-hunt" to find a descent one. Sticking with this free e-mail system (Hotmail) so anyone from the past, that feels like writing, and that I didn't piss off too badly, PLEASE write. I talked to many of you already but lost the hard drive and had to start over. Let me hear from you again. Take care, and hope to hear from all the 76'ers.

From the Zaragoza Alumni Association, we give a great applause to the Teresa Welch and her group who are getting together in June in San Antonio. We hope that your reunion will encourage more ex-students, parent and teacher who attended Zaragoza High School to become more involved in the group as a whole. As a reminder to all of you, reunions are an important part of ourlives. It is important for us to be able to reach back and touch those who made us the people that we are today, whether it is friends, lovers, teachers, dorm counselors or parents (or security police--in some cases). Whether you attened Zaragoza High School in the 60's, 70's, 80's or the 90's matters not, only that YOU belong to a wonderful group of people you have helped to shape your lives in one form or another. As I prepare for my youngest daughter to walk a cross her high school graduation stage in two weeks, I wonder if my parents felt the same way. We are looking for articles to put in the Grapevine News Letter, if you have any memories of your graduation day, week or oh what about that night! Yes, I am an oldie, but a goodie. I was only at ZAB my senior year, but it was a great year. I would love to contact anyone around during those years. I have my yearbook and have actually stayed in contact with a few of my classmates. There was a reunion in California two years ago and there was 5 of us from the Class of '64. Keep up the good work, it is great to think there are others out there looking for a "contact" to the past!

Are there any "old" ZHS students out there? I attended Zaragoza High grades 7-9, when we were the Zebras. I have great memories of Zaragoza and friends there! As a Spanish teacher, I've returned to Spain more than 20 times in past 15 years--it's changed, but still a great place. Anyone interested in organizing a trip to Spain sometime in '99? Just wanted to say Hi to you guys even though I never attended. However, I did visit 6-8 times a year for Football, Basketball, Tennis and Band. I found this page by accident and what a gem! Hi Grant Peterson, Hi Jamie Kehe (dormies from Madrid, Sevilla and Zaragoza -- although I think Grant was only in Sevilla and Zaragoza). Like Grant, I too am returning to Spain (March of 1999), which is why I was surfing the net to see how much things have changed. Does anyone from our era know where Phil Booher is? How about any of the dorm counselors? Ellen Alm, Sheryl Speasl? Can't remember the guy's names, but there were two crazy brothers. What a small world eh?

I went to ZAB in 76-77, but in the middle school. I have family that lives in Zaragoza, and visited ZAB many times thereafter. My father ended up stationed at TAB, and I graduated from THS, but I had many friends from both bases. Currently, I am hosting a web site dedicated to Torrejon, and welcome any ZAB alumni to visit and say hi. Even though we were rival in sports, I hold many of my friends close by. I attended ZHS as a sophmore during the 1972-1973 school year, and have many fond memories of my time there. anybody remember the graffiti art in downtown zaragoza, well quest is still extent. yea i was down with det 9 heli rescue, how about command post, man philly sure needs one. sure miss them tapas might satisfying after them potent aragonian brews. I miss espana and the usaf, but when Msgt Benton said he didnt dig the graf, I split.Now an EE, so no hard feelings.Special hello to Bill and Jayne I met in 1985,86.I still can see the Pyrenees from the det 9 hangar.

Peace and Blessings, What a trip!!! I was reading through the names, and I remember many of you. I'm Joseph, Vera-Ellen, and Catherine-Anne's brother. If you don't remember us, I'm sure you'll remember the best teacher in the DoDD's school system, Julia Smith. I still can't believe that after 15 years I'm writing to some people that know where I went to high school. I want to give praises to who ever came up with the idea of this home page, and tell you that IT WAS AN AWESOME IDEA. Everybody in my family is doing well THANK GOD. My mother and father finally came back to the states (after 33 years) they are living in New Orleans, and so are Vera-Ellen and Catherine-Anne. Vera-Ellen is a flight attendent (doing what she loves to do, travel), and Catherin-Anne is a Dillard U. Joseph is finishing a Masters Degree in International Relations at Baylor Univ. in Texas. I'm working on a Masters Degree in the History of the African Diaspora at Howard University in Washington, D.C. I think I found my niche. Anyway, to all of you, it is good to go through the list and see names I haven't heard in years. I want to send a BIG SHOUT OUT TO CINDY NEMETH (she told me about the site), CLINT WILKERSON WHAT'S HAPPENING IN HAWAII? ROD LATHON AND AN EVEN BIGGER ONE TO MR. Hola amigos y companeros! Haven't seen very many (one) class of 83 graduate. Are we the lost class of ZHS? I guess Clint Wilkerson and myself (Cindy Nemeth) have managed to surface. Many of you may remember my sister Bridget. We both live in Tempe, Arizona and it's starting to get hot. Make that too hot. Hope that most of you have received your ZAB Grapevine newsletter. There are some great articles in there and some interesting tidbits from our old newpaper from the High School.. We are looking for those of you who have spoken to a long lost person and want to share the moment with us--in writing please. If you haven't sent in your annual dues....why NOT!? Your dues are what keeps our association, this web page and newsletter going.
